• Design & Planning: The carpenter determines the pantry's dimensions, materials, and features, such as adjustable shelves, pull-out shelves, or a combination.
• Add Structural Elements: Iron-on edge banding is applied to exposed front edges to give them a finished look. Support strips are added for wall mounting, a toe kick is cut into the bottom front of the sides, and a 1/4-inch plywood back panel is attached.
• Build & Attach the Face Frame: A face frame is assembled from pieces of pine or other lumber using pocket holes and screws. This face frame is then glued and nailed to the front of the cabinet
• Install Internal Features (Optional): For pull-out shelves, spacer blocks are mounted to provide clearance for drawer slides. Drawer boxes are built. For adjustable shelves, shelf pin holes are drilled along the side panels.
• Construct & Install Doors: Doors are built and framed for a paneled look. Hinge cup holes are drilled, and the doors are attached to the cabinet.
• Finishing Touches: The entire pantry and its doors are primed, caulked, and painted. Handles and a magnetic catch are installed on the doors

To install a tongue and groove wood ceiling, a carpenter first prepares the site by ensuring walls are parallel and calculating board lengths, then lays out and secures the boards, staggering joints and blind-nailing them to the joists through the tongue. The first board is installed face-nailed, and subsequent boards are tapped into place with a mallet, then blind-nailed through the tongue to the ceiling joists. An expansion gap is left around the perimeter, and cuts are made with a miter saw for length and a jigsaw for openings like lights.
